FAQ
Do I need an account to use HabitKeep?+
No. There's no sign-up and no server holding your habits. Everything is stored on your device, and syncing between your own devices runs through your private iCloud, which only you can read.
Does HabitKeep sync between my iPhone and Apple Watch?+
Yes. The iPhone app and the Apple Watch app both talk to your private iCloud, so logging a habit on either one shows up on the other. You can turn iCloud sync off in Settings if you'd rather keep everything on one device.
What happens to my streak when I go on holiday?+
Turn on Vacation mode for the dates you're away. Those days count as neither a completion nor a miss — your streak carries straight through the gap instead of resetting, and your completion rate isn't dented either.
I checked a habit off from a widget — why doesn't it show everywhere yet?+
The widget marks it done straight away, but iOS doesn't let a widget write to the app's database directly. HabitKeep queues that tap and writes it into your history the next time you open the app, which is also when it syncs out to your other devices. Nothing is lost in between.
Which Apple Health data can log habits for me?+
62 metrics in total, across activity, energy, sleep and mindfulness, nutrition, minerals, and vitamins — steps, workouts, sleep, water and plenty more. Pick one when you create the habit and it fills itself in. Health sync is a Pro feature.
What kinds of habits can I track?+
Four shapes, and you can mix them freely:
- Simple check-offs — did it or didn't.
- Step-by-step counts, like 8 glasses of water.
- Custom values, like pages read or minutes practised.
- Timers and stopwatches, with a Live Activity on your Lock Screen while one runs.
Habits can also be ones you're quitting rather than building, or ones you only want to track without ever failing.
What's free and what needs Pro?+
Free covers up to 4 active habits at once, the summary statistics, the weekday heatmap, the full-year grid, three widgets, and iCloud sync. Pro lifts the habit limit and adds Apple Health and Calendar sync, the trend chart and breakdowns, period comparison, custom date ranges, all 14 widgets, and your yearly Wrapped — and removes ads. See the comparison on the home page.
Pro is available monthly, yearly, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.
If I stop paying for Pro, do I lose my habits?+
No. Limits are only checked when you create something new, never when it's shown. If you built ten habits on Pro and then let it lapse, you keep all ten, keep the full history, and keep logging them — you just can't add an eleventh until you resubscribe.
Can I get my data out of the app?+
Yes. Settings has a JSON export that contains everything, and a matching import to bring it back — into a new device, or after a Fresh Start. There's also Delete All Data if you want to wipe the slate completely.
Is there an Android version?+
Not at the moment. HabitKeep is built for iPhone and Apple Watch, and leans on Apple Health, iCloud, Live Activities, and WidgetKit throughout. Some of our other apps are on both platforms.
Which languages does HabitKeep support?+
37, selectable inside the app independently of your system language.
